This is why I still prefer PCs… The pull of the mac is the veneer – the image and user interface.
The underlying hardware is consistently good, but not outstanding (for the price) and the underlying Darwin is basically linux with all (well most of) it’s foibles.
I did think there was a difference in the way processing is allocated, multi tasking or switching.
I do get the impression on a Mac, there is a heave as processor resources are re-allocated, but then it’s been a while – I’m sure with a bit of hacking you could change things in windows.
